I had someone order a German Chocolate Cake yesterday, which I had to deliver this morning. I learned something about German Chocolate Frosting, it’s just like me! German Chocolate Frosting doesn’t like to be controlled, it’s feisty and temper mental, much like myself.
Making this frosting was a challenge, not because I couldn’t do it, but because I was tired while trying to do it. If any of you have ever made this frosting from scratch you know how difficult it can be. Keep in mind, I just said the frosting is feisty, temper mental and doesn’t like being told what to do. I Chasity tried to rush the frosting along and actually yelled at it several times and in the end, guess what I got? CARAMEL!!!!
German Chocolate Frosting is like me, you have to approach her like she is the only thing in your world, you have to speak to her in a tone that is like silk, and you have to court her, before she will commit to you.
This morning I courted the frosting, praised her beauty. Guess what I got in return, a German Chocolate Frosting that Martha Stewart would die for!
I have to thank my mother-in-law...Lola Jenkins. This is her recipe and I did a DAMN a good job!

Day 1 and Chassy Cakes
There is SOOOOO much going on in our lives right now. Today is Day 1, so we hope to inseminateOctober 5-7th. I am planning to test with an OPK three times a day, plus daily visits to the doctor, to ensure we don't miss it this time. I am taking my prenatal vitamins every day and trying to stay as stress free as possible. So the baby front is OK at this time.
I will let you all in on our BIG adventure...Dess and I officially launched Chassy Cakes yesterday. For those of you who may be wondering what Chassy Cakes is...it's a Cupcake company owned by Dess and me. Dess handles all of our marketing and other things, Cherish our daughter is acting as our Admin, she keeps our inventory up-to-date and as for me, I am the one doing ALL of the baking and loving every minute of it.
Yesterday, I delivered our FIRST order and received our first payment, it was a great feeling! Today I baked a cake for Dess co-worker, which was my famous lemon and tomorrow I have two orders to fulfill. I have a lot to do tonight. I never thought I would be selling my deserts, I used to bake as a stress reliever, now look at me!

Being the Wife to an Athlete
Dess found a basketball league that plays on Tuesday nights, but guess what it wasn’t enough; so she joins another league that plays on Thursday nights, guess what that isn’t enough either. A friend of hers told her about a tag football league that has started; I believe they may be joining that team next week.
Dess true love is basketball; she has played and coached on a division I level. Her next sport of choice is football, she joined the Dallas Diamonds (women’s professional football league) last year as a rookie and kicked ass. The team won the superbowl against Chicago and now you can't tell her anything.
I say all of this to let you all know that I am married to a COMPULSIVE ATHLETE, but she is my compulsive athlete and I am in awe every time I watch compete.

Working with Idiots
For the life of me, I can't understand how people can lack common sense. I have realized that I work with idiots. There are a few men here that lack the ability to think on their own. They cannot and will not admit when they FUCK UP excuse my French, but I am PISSED at this particular moment.
I'm a Sr. Marketing Buyer for a well known corporation. I have too many commodities to name what I buy, just know it's a lot of COOL stuff. Yesterday, I received an email from a co-worker complaining, yet again about our shipping department. It seems, that they shipped one of our customers the wrong product. Instead of rectifying the problem by shipping the right item via fed-ex, they decided to ask how should they ship, they also wanted the customer to pay for the items they were not to receive (can you see a problem here).
This is where the NOT-SO-NICE Chasity gets involved. I called the culprit from the shipping department and not so calmly explained, "You will overnight the product our customer ordered and you will leave in their possession the items you mistakenly shipped to them, and you WILL NOT charge them for shipping and you WILL NOT charge them for the other items." Do you know this idiot had the nerve to say, "Who is going to pay for the product that we accidentally shipped?" I swear there was smoke coming out of my ears at this point. I answered very loudly, "YOU ARE"!
That was yesterday...this morning I had another email from the idiot saying or should I say whining, "I will have to get the head of accountant involved and I don't think it's necessary just for a few pennies." I lost it! I said, "We don't live in a world where we sweep our mistakes under the rug and we do not EVER charge our customers for our mistakes. We own up to our mistakes and accept the repercussions that come along. You do not have to tell the head of A/P, because I will...have a good day"!
Case and Point...I work with IDIOTS!

Lesbians TTC Forum
I have created a community on MSN Groups that is for lesbians who are trying to conceive. After finding very minimal sources via the web for our community; I decided to create my own.
Dess and I are also trying to have a child, so I hope to share my own experiences and learn from the rest of our members. Our site is only a week old, so be patient with me while I set-up our site. It is active and ready for you to join. I am looking for a volunteer to assist me with this site, if you are interested, leave a comment here.

Cowboys VS. Eagles

Tonight is the night that my team will prove to all of you non-believers how great we really are. My wife has decided that the Eagles are going to whip the Cowboys ASS tonight. She has gone so far to place a bet. I won't tell you what she gets if she wins, because it’s a bit private and she doesn’t stand a chance of winning. When I win she will have to send me too a spa for the day.
I have all of my money on the COWBOYS, we can't go wrong with my boy T.O. and of course Romo, but know that I am a TRUE T.O. FAN.

No Go!
We missed our opportunity to inseminate, which I blame the doctor's. It appears that I was ovulating Tuesday evening and when I went into the doctors office the following afternoon, they failed to read my blood work accurately. We should have inseminated yesterday. Now we wait until next month.
We ae going to do things differently next month. Instead of using an OPK, we will go to the doctor every day, beginning day 10 to have my blood drawn and a sonogram, too watch my follicles like a hawk. We believe I ovulate between day 11-12. So the count-down begins again.

Inseminate or Not - Day 12
Last night the OPK (Ovulation Predictor Kit) read positive at 8:30 P.M. First thing this morning I called the doctor to schedule an appointment to check my blood, to see if we will inseminate today. Its 11:30 and I have to be in Bedford at 12:30 for the test. They will send me back to work to wait for their call. I have to do all of this, while my wife is in Houston on business.
Yes, I said Houston! Dess had a benifit fair she had to host for one of her clients, granted its only a day trip. If the results come back positive, this is where the problem will occur. I CANNOT INSEMINATE WITHOUT DESS!!!!!!!!
I think I need to walk away from the computer at this time. I will be back after the results are in.

D2OPK Testing - Day 11

Last night we tested negative, only one bar showed up and it was faint. This morning around 8 a.m, I tested negative again with 1 dark bar and 1 faint bar. I am afraid that I will test positive tonight and will have to go into the center tomorrow morning. The problem with that is Dess will be in Houston tomorrow on business, I can't inseminate without her. So I am hoping and praying that tonight will be a negative reading just like this morning.
I have my fingers crossed!

Sonogram - Day 10
Today was the day of my Sonogram. Dess trully believed she saw a baby, I keep telling her it isnt possible, being that we havent inseminated yet. She is too cute, all excited and stuff.
For those of you who may be asking, "Why do you need a sonogram?" The sonogram is in place to detect the size of my eggs. In the sonogram, they are hoping to get an egg in size of 18 or better. My biggest egg was 17.9, which is GREAT. This all means we have working eggs, the nurse actually gave us an A+.
We received instructions to begin testing my urine with an Ovulation Kit, which they recommended we use OVUSponse. Which we decided against, we are going to use First Response, since I am familiar and comfortable using this kit. Tonight we are only to test one time, but tomorrow and the days after we are to test twice a day, until we get a positive. Once the test reads positive, we are to call the center and make a same day appointment. The center will then run a blood test to make sure that my test was positive. Once the blood work reads positive, we will then come back the same day to inseminate. Then their is a two-week waiting period, I think I will start to loose my mind during this time.
I am trully excited and a bit overwhelmed. I feel like their is SO much pressure on my body. I am thirty-two and I keep wondering if my body is capable of conceiving a child at this age. Dess keeps telling me not to worry about, but how can I not?

Gotta Get Through The Weekend - Day 7
OK, Monday, September 8, 2008 we meet our Doctor (Dr. Doody) at 7:15 in the morning, so that I can have a Sonogram. The Sonogram will give us how many folicles I have to work with. It is said 3-4 folicles gives one the best chance of getting pregnant. So let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope that I have plenty of folicles.
Once Dr. Doody goes over the Sonogram with us, we then start tracking when I will ovulate. I've chosen to use First Response. Just because of the cute baby on the package...just kidding. Dess and I used First Response a few months back, to get an idea to when I would ovulate. Each month using First Response, we tested positive between Day 15 & 16, during 12 pm - 2 pm. I am hoping for the same results next week. If I ovulate on Day 15 or 16, that would be perfect because the days fall on a weekend. I would be able to inseminate on Saturday or Sunday and go straight home, to cuddle with my Dessy.
So we are asking everyone to keep us in your prayers and to sprinkle baby dust our way.

Busy - Busy - Busy - Day 5

It has been nearly five months since my last post and so much has happened. We put off TTC until after the wedding. I am proud to say I am now married and we are inseminating next week.
Like I said a lot has happened, we got married July 5, 2008 in Ventura County. It was the most exciting and scariest moment of my life. I never thought that I would EVER stand before my friends and family to commit myself to anyone, but I have and I thank the lord above every day for blessing me with my life partner.
The wedding was everything that I hoped it would be. I planned it from beginning to end and was called bridezilla many times, but everyone had a great time. I will post pictures of the wedding here shortly.
As for the little one, we are hoping that when we inseminate next week, we will be holding our son or daughter in our arms by next June. So we are asking all of you to keep us in your prayers and sprinkle baby dust our way.
